I recently visited Belek in Turkey on a work trip, the destination is unique, in that it has 13 golf clubs (252 holes) and at least 14 hotels all within 25 minutes’ drive!
There is definitely something for everyone. I stayed at four of the hotels; Sirene Belek, Sueno Deluxe, Gloria Verde and Cornelia Diamond and had the fortunate to play Gloria Old, National and PGA Sultan, wish I could have played more. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining and the sky was blue, I definitely recommend this destination for a winter golf break. The flight time is 4 hours and 20 minutes from London, with the nearest airport, Antalya, 30km from the region of Belek.
This destination really knows how to offer the All-Inclusive concept, with some golf courses offering the concept to all golfers, whether they are staying at their hotel or not, as long as they are playing their course on the day. Choosing your hotel is important, as certain hotels own their own courses and therefore offer preferred rates and tee times. Within the hotels, the All-Inclusive concept includes the buffet restaurants, bars, patisseries and mini bar in room. Currently most a ’la carte restaurants charge a fee, ranging from €10 to €85 per person. We ate at the Italian A’ La Carte restaurant at Sueno Deluxe, which was €10 each and made a change from eating at the Main buffet. All the resorts visited offer free entry into their Spa which include facilities, such as indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Hammam, treatments incur an extra charge.
